Domain verifications

Use your internet domains

Why it matters

Tick has a powerful integration API, but with great powers comes great responsibility.. A small mistake in entering an URL for a data adapter or Event subscription can lead to unforeseen behavior.

How it works

When requesting a domain verification Tick will do 2 things: - Send an e-mail to [email protected] - check for a TXT DNS record on yourdomain.com

Via E-mail verification

Open the e-mail sent to [email protected] and you will find a verification code. On the screen verify the code, once verified you can sue the domain name.

Via a DNS Record

Before you begin

This won't be easy, but we're here to help.

DNS records have been around since the beginning of the internet. This can be a challenging task, and the steps are different for each domain. We've tried to make this chore as easy as possible, but you may get frustrated.

Please read carefully, and we'll help you get through this!

You'll need to sign in to your registrar Before you get started, make sure you have the account ID and password you need to sign in to your registrar. Contact your registrar if you need help with that account.

Usually your domain registrar is: The company where you bought your domain. The company that hosts your website.

Installation

  • Create a new DNS record with type TXT
  • use @ as name or use your domain name as record name (The @ indicates this record is for the root domain)
  • enter the presented dns verification code

Save the DNS record

Tick will try to find it in the upcoming hours, once found you can use the domain name.
